Modern Chess Pieces
A group project from the D7007A - Designing course, tasked with reimagining traditional chess pieces in a fresh but recognizable way.
We kept the classic silhouettes while giving the pieces a modern twist: airy tops with substantial, rounded bottoms, creating a balance between lightness and stability.
All pieces and their custom environment were surface-modeled in Autodesk Alias and rendered in KeyShot. I chose to create a playful surrounding where the chess pieces it thought to be used by kids and encourage the game.
